We firmly believe in offering our students ample choices. Extensive research indicates that when students perceive themselves as having control over their learning, they tend to engage more profoundly with the material and attain outstanding learning results.
At Xavier High School every Stage 5 student (Yr 9 & 10) must study 6 subject modules each semester (24 modules in total over the two years). There are Mandatory Modules and Elective Modules (see details below).
We believe that it is essential to provide our students with plenty of choice. Research is clear, when students feel they are in control of their learning they are more likely to engage deeply with the content and achieve excellent learning outcomes.
